Darrell Dawson

Darrell Dawson is a comedian and writer based in Columbus, Ohio, placing him within easy driving distance of most clubs in the Midwest. He has performed in cities throughout the country, including Las Vegas (LA Comedy Club), Louisville (Comedy Caravan), Cincinnati (Go Bananas), Cleveland (Hilarities) and Columbus (Funny Bone).
Behind the strength of his writing, Darrell has been selected to perform at the Laughing Skull, Cleveland and Columbus comedy festivals.

Over a 10-day period in June 2010, three of Darrell’s clips were selected to be part of the “Daily 8″ showcase on the front page of rooftopcomedy.com, a national stand-up comedy Web site. In January 2011, he was the featured comic on the “20-After Laugher” on Columbus’ 107.9-FM.

Additionally, Darrell finished third in the 2010 Cleveland Comedy Festival’s “Funny On Demand” contest; was a runner-up in the 2010 and 2011 Funniest Person in Columbus competitions; and performed at the 2009 and 2010 “Comedy at ComFest” shows during Columbus’ largest annual music and entertainment festival.

Darrell has also appeared in numerous television commercials and is still bitter about his February 2001 appearance on the original Regis Philbin version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” that twice saw him fall mere hundredths of a second short of the “Hot Seat.”

His humor columns have appeared in The Columbus Dispatch and other publications.
